You and I are products of God’s love. His love manifested to us made us who we are today. Love is very powerful, and it is through it that God won humanity and the lost world back to Himself. God’s love convicted us, and brought us to salvation in Him.

God’s love is called agape love. It is unconditional love. It is unique to God and so can only be found in Him only. It is a sacrificial and non discriminatory love. It is a love expressed not because the recipient deserves it but because he or she needs it. The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

“This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us.”- (Romans 5:5 GNT)

As sons of God, we share the nature of God, so the ability to love as God, is innate in us. We should not have to struggle to manifest love because love is in our DNA, in the same manner that birds do not struggle to fly, or fish struggle to swim. These acts are so natural with these animals because of their nature. So every creature is distinguished and known by its unique abilities. Any human being who does not express or manifest love is not a son or daughter of God; he or she is not born by God.

“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” (John 13:34, 35 MSG)

Our lifestyle reveals who we are, it reveals our nature. Love is not so much in what we say as in what we do! So the object or focus of love is someone else; who needs help or support, who is less privileged; the weak, the poor, the sick, the homeless; those who cannot give us back what we offered them but whose life will be transformed by our deeds.

Everybody responds to love. Love is powerful, it gives hope to the hopeless, joy to the sorrowful, and it brings purpose to a life of vanity. Love is caring for others; it is being able to put up with everyone and to bring out the best in them.

Love is about treating others the way you would like to be treated. Love doesn’t revel when others grovel; it does not react by paying people back in their own coin. Love is about showing compassion.

Let us therefore manifest love; it is the acid test of whether or not we are sons of God!

God bless you.
