THANKSGIVING- PART 2
SUNDAY 09TH OF DECEMBER 2018

“That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.”
– Psalm 104:28

Everyone that reflects on the outgoing year will give God thanks; we have every reason to thank God. Our labour and efforts were fruitful because God made it so.

So we are able to receive and gather because of God’s provisions. Without God’s input, all our effort in studying, working etc could have ended in failure.

Without the God factor, our hardwork could have resulted in vanity. There is therefore a need for each one of us to thank God for every of our plans that produced results; and every of our search that produced the desired outcome.

We should be thankful for everything we possess because God gives and we gather, Praise God!

“A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.”- John 3:27

This is a time to thank God for everything we have within and without. To thank God for our finances, our health and our lives; acknowledging Him as the source.

Our being in good and sound health is not by our healthy diet and exercise regime alone, but much more by the goodness of God. We feed our bodies with food and it gives us strength because of the God factor.

“And what do you have that you did not receive?”- 1 Corinthians 4:7

We must all thank God that we have a place to live in, clothes to put on, and the basic necessities of life. We should give God thanks for the people He has given to us and preserved- our parents, children, siblings, friends etc.

Everything we have is a blessing from God. The generosity and benevolence of God has earned us what we have. God is open-handed in His dealings with us, He gives grace, He gives glory, and He has not withheld anything good from us. He gives us all that makes for life and godliness.

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”- Psalm 84:11

Our prayers and fasting resulted in answers because of God’s faithfulness and compassion. He has not turned away our prayers; He has hearkened to the voice of our cry. Our righteousness has produced nothing outside of His love, kindness and Goodness to us.

Let us give God thanks.

God Bless You!
