THANKSGIVING- PART 3
OH THAT MEN WOULD PRAISE THE LORD
SUNDAY 16 TH OF DECEMBER 2018
“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the
children of men!”- Psalm 107:8
God is awesome in His love for humanity. He showed it at the beginning, making man the crown of
His creation. Man, though not the strongest or fastest, God made him to be in charge of all His
creation; He made us gods on the earth. He made all things bright and beautiful for mankind’s
benefit, to meet his needs.
Even when man fell, He showed His displeasure at man’s sins, but still instituted a redemptive plan
and executed it. He gave Himself to us on the cross as a sacrifice. He paid the price on our behalf to
restore our relationship with Him, so He can have a reason to continuously lavish His love on us.
God is more to us than we can ever imagine, we can never fathom the height, the width, or the
depth of God’s love for us. Oh that men will acknowledge His goodness and His wonderful works to
us. We owe Him the life we live, we owe all that we are and have to His grace and benevolence.
“Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”- Psalm 150:6
The way to start is to imbibe the attitude of reflection. Have moments to reflect on your life; your
life’s journey. The more you reflect from time to time, day to day, week to week, month to month,
and year to year; the more you will burst into His praises and thanksgiving spontaneously. The
evidences of His goodness and wonderful works will be overwhelming.
As you reflect on remote and recent affairs of your life, you will continually say like Samuel:
“Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.” This will bring songs of praise and appreciation to God from
your mouth and tears of joy in your eyes.
As you recount His manifold blessings in your life, things that money cannot buy; you will realize
how indebted you are to Him.
In your reflection, you will discover He has done so much for you, irrespective of those things that
you may still be looking up to Him for. This will develop in you an unflinching faith in God for what
is yet to be done.
“Being confident of this very thing that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ.”- Philippians 1:6
The more you reflect, the more you will develop a deep love for Him and draw closer to Him as a
faithful, indispensible, loving, caring friend and Father.
Let us praise the Lord!
God Bless You!
