SCHOOL OUTREACH MINISTRY
God’s Vineyard Ministries (GVM) is a Christian Charity with the motto: ‘Empowering lives, building society.’ We therefore, constantly seek opportunities to contribute to communal development and societal wellbeing.
As part of our commitment and dedication to these ideals, we started running ‘The Schools Outreach’ Project across Secondary Schools in the city of Nottingham in the Autumn of 2009.
The Schools Outreach basically involves sending over an experienced team from GVM to conduct quality, dynamic, educative, exciting and inspiring Assemblies on specified dates in the Schools we work with. The Schools Outreach also provides Curriculum Enhancement activities and Mentoring support services to such Schools or Academies.
Our inaugural Assembly-Act of Worship was held at Bluecoat Academy Aspley Lane campus on 24th November 2009, since then, we have been conducting regular (mostly weekly) Assemblies at the 2 campuses of Bluecoat Academy till date, with about 150 to 300 pupils in attendance per session.
The Schools Outreach team also started working with Emmanuel School West Bridgford, in the Autumn of 2012. In Summer term 2017, we ran a project in conjunction with the School’s Chaplain and other supporting institutions tagged “Emmanuel Pastors“, to provide support for pupils in the School.
In 2014, through the ongoing Schools Outreach work and engagement, GVM was recognised as a Work Placement Provider for students from Secondary Schools across the city. Since then over 5 students from Schools in Nottingham, such as Bluecoat Academy, Arnold Hill Academy, Redhill Academy and Christ The King Academy have attended a week long Work Placement at GVM.
